Steffen, Pasculli and the idea for the Bickepacking Ride
Steffen’s 11-week break – a sabbatical on two wheels
Since I was 16, my life has been dominated by work – year after year, without ever having more than three weeks off in a row. The desire for a real break, for time for myself and for being on the road, grew quietly – until now. Now the time has come: I’m taking eleven weeks off, getting on my bike and leaving the daily grind behind me.
This journey is more than just a bike tour. It is a personal expedition, driven by curiosity, encounters and movement. Some places are firmly anchored on the route – including Braga, Santiago de Compostela, Chur, Carona and Ljubljana. Places to which I set off out of promises, memories or attachment. Everything in between remains open: Room for recommendations, spontaneous detours and new discoveries.
I am supported by great partners who believe in this project:
Pasculli (pasculli.de) – the Berlin bike manufacturer,
Tailfin (tailfin.cc) – for reliable bikepacking equipment, Schwalbe Tires ( schwalbe.com ) , FSA ( fullspeedahead )
and SON (nabendynamo.de) – for light that gets me safely through day and night.
Thank you for your support – and to everyone else: Stay tuned if you want to be part of this journey!
The Lisbon - Berlin 2025 route

11 weeks. 5000 kilometers. 70,000 meters of altitude. One mission.
Steffen Lehmann’s bikepacking tour from Lisbon to Berlin – with the Pasculli Lisore
On June 1, 2025, Steffen Lehmann embarks on an adventure that is not only geographically far-reaching, but also deeply personal. With the Pasculli Lisore under him, he will cycle from Lisbon to Berlin in 11 weeks – alone, without support, but with full determination. What lies ahead of him: over 5,000 kilometers, more than 70,000 meters of altitude and countless encounters, landscapes and challenges.
This tour is not an escape – it is a conscious turn: to slow travel, to self-reflection and to the essence of cycling. Steffen doesn’t just cycle from A to B. He crosses countries, cultures and borders – and grows a little further beyond himself with every pedal stroke.
The route: Between the Atlantic, the Alps and the Adriatic
The tour begins in the most south-western point of Europe – Lisbon, Portugal. From there, the route heads north, through the hilly heart of Portugal to Braga and on to the famous pilgrimage destination of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
What follows is an interplay of coast, high plateaus and the foothills of the Pyrenees before the route winds its way through the south of France – on small roads and over hidden passes.
Steffen then crosses the Swiss Alps to Chur, immerses himself in the majestic scenery of Ticino and reaches the dreamy artists’ village of Carona. The route then continues over the Julian Alps to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia – a fixed point full of history, charm and far-reaching views.
Finally, the long return journey through Central Europe – through Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland – leads to the final destination: Berlin.
You can find the exact route with all intermediate stops here on Komoot.
The bike: Pasculli Lisore – built for the big ride
Steffen relies on the Pasculli Lisore for this extreme long-distance ride – an uncompromising performance gravel bike that stands for dynamism, comfort and reliability. Made in Berlin, developed for the world. Thanks to its carbon frame, well thought-out geometry and the finest components, the Lisore not only carries weight, but also responsibility – namely that of taking Steffen safely over mountain passes, gravel and asphalt.
The setup is accompanied by bikepacking specialists such as Tailfin.cc and the tried-and-tested SON hub dynamo lighting system – equipment that knows no limits.
Solo. Self-supported. Real.
Steffen is going on this tour alone – without a support vehicle, without external help. He has everything he needs with him: tent, tools, clothing, camera. It’s not about speed, but about depth. Not about competition, but about experience.
This journey is an expression of an attitude: reduction, resilience and respect – towards himself, nature and the people he encounters.
Join Steffen on his journey
For Pasculli, this project is not just an adventure – it is a vision of cycling culture in action. In the coming weeks, you can follow Steffen’s tour digitally – with pictures, updates and impressions directly from the route.
The Pasculli Lisore with equipment
Steffen on the road: 11 weeks, one goal, one bike – the Pasculli Lisore ACR
For his 11-week tour, Steffen relies on the Pasculli Lisore ACR carbon gravel bike – an uncompromising companion for any terrain, specially configured for maximum performance and independence.
Drivetrain & gearing
The heart of the drivetrain is the SRAM Force AXS groupset with power meter, wireless, precise and resilient. The selected gear ratio – KRG 46/33 at the front, 10-36 cassette at the rear – offers Steffen ideal reserves for demanding climbs, even in the Pyrenees.
Wheels & power supply
A custom-built wheelset with BEAST carbon rims ensures lightness and stability. The integrated SON hub dynamo feeds the SON LadeLux unit so that Steffen can reliably power his electronics at all times – whether GPS, lights or smartphone.
Bikepacking system from Tailfin
The modular system from our friends at Tailfin (UK) is used for the luggage:
Carbon HR pannier rack with AeroPack and two side pannier bags
Bar bag on the handlebars for all your tent equipment
Two 5-liter fork bags with direct mount system
One 2.2-liter long top tube bag for quick access on the go
Cockpit & components
The cockpit is dominated by the FSA/Vision Metron Flat M.A.S. Aero carbon handlebars with matching MAS carbon aero attachment – ergonomic, aerodynamic and optimized for long distances.
Tires
The Schwalbe G-One Overland 365, fitted with Aerotan tubes, ensures optimum grip in any weather and on any surface – ready for all the kilometers that lie ahead of Steffen.
Conclusion:
With this setup, Steffen is ideally equipped for a real adventure. The Lisore ACR – efficient, robust and well thought out down to the smallest detail. We are delighted to be part of this journey.
