Lisbon – Berlin 2025

Steffen, Pasculli and the idea for the Bickepacking Ride

Steffen’s 11-week break – a sabbatical on two wheels

Since I was 16, my life has been dominated by work – year after year, without ever having more than three weeks off in a row. The desire for a real break, for time for myself and for being on the road, grew quietly – until now. Now the time has come: I’m taking eleven weeks off, getting on my bike and leaving the daily grind behind me.

This journey is more than just a bike tour. It is a personal expedition, driven by curiosity, encounters and movement. Some places are firmly anchored on the route – including Braga, Santiago de Compostela, Chur, Carona and Ljubljana. Places to which I set off out of promises, memories or attachment. Everything in between remains open: Room for recommendations, spontaneous detours and new discoveries.

I am supported by great partners who believe in this project:
Pasculli (pasculli.de) – the Berlin bike manufacturer,
Tailfin (tailfin.cc) – for reliable bikepacking equipment, Schwalbe Tires ( schwalbe.com ) , FSA ( fullspeedahead )
and SON (nabendynamo.de) – for light that gets me safely through day and night.

Thank you for your support – and to everyone else: Stay tuned if you want to be part of this journey!

The Lisbon - Berlin 2025 route

11 weeks. 5000 kilometers. 70,000 meters of altitude. One mission.

Steffen Lehmann’s bikepacking tour from Lisbon to Berlin – with the Pasculli Lisore
On June 1, 2025, Steffen Lehmann embarks on an adventure that is not only geographically far-reaching, but also deeply personal. With the Pasculli Lisore under him, he will cycle from Lisbon to Berlin in 11 weeks – alone, without support, but with full determination. What lies ahead of him: over 5,000 kilometers, more than 70,000 meters of altitude and countless encounters, landscapes and challenges.

This tour is not an escape – it is a conscious turn: to slow travel, to self-reflection and to the essence of cycling. Steffen doesn’t just cycle from A to B. He crosses countries, cultures and borders – and grows a little further beyond himself with every pedal stroke.

The route: Between the Atlantic, the Alps and the Adriatic
The tour begins in the most south-western point of Europe – Lisbon, Portugal. From there, the route heads north, through the hilly heart of Portugal to Braga and on to the famous pilgrimage destination of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

What follows is an interplay of coast, high plateaus and the foothills of the Pyrenees before the route winds its way through the south of France – on small roads and over hidden passes.

Steffen then crosses the Swiss Alps to Chur, immerses himself in the majestic scenery of Ticino and reaches the dreamy artists’ village of Carona. The route then continues over the Julian Alps to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia – a fixed point full of history, charm and far-reaching views.

Finally, the long return journey through Central Europe – through Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland – leads to the final destination: Berlin.

You can find the exact route with all intermediate stops here on Komoot.

The bike: Pasculli Lisore – built for the big ride
Steffen relies on the Pasculli Lisore for this extreme long-distance ride – an uncompromising performance gravel bike that stands for dynamism, comfort and reliability. Made in Berlin, developed for the world. Thanks to its carbon frame, well thought-out geometry and the finest components, the Lisore not only carries weight, but also responsibility – namely that of taking Steffen safely over mountain passes, gravel and asphalt.

The setup is accompanied by bikepacking specialists such as Tailfin.cc and the tried-and-tested SON hub dynamo lighting system – equipment that knows no limits.

Solo. Self-supported. Real.
Steffen is going on this tour alone – without a support vehicle, without external help. He has everything he needs with him: tent, tools, clothing, camera. It’s not about speed, but about depth. Not about competition, but about experience.

This journey is an expression of an attitude: reduction, resilience and respect – towards himself, nature and the people he encounters.

Join Steffen on his journey
For Pasculli, this project is not just an adventure – it is a vision of cycling culture in action. In the coming weeks, you can follow Steffen’s tour digitally – with pictures, updates and impressions directly from the route.

The Pasculli Lisore with equipment

Steffen on the road: 11 weeks, one goal, one bike – the Pasculli Lisore ACR

For his 11-week tour, Steffen relies on the Pasculli Lisore ACR carbon gravel bike – an uncompromising companion for any terrain, specially configured for maximum performance and independence.

Drivetrain & gearing
The heart of the drivetrain is the SRAM Force AXS groupset with power meter, wireless, precise and resilient. The selected gear ratio – KRG 46/33 at the front, 10-36 cassette at the rear – offers Steffen ideal reserves for demanding climbs, even in the Pyrenees.

Wheels & power supply
A custom-built wheelset with BEAST carbon rims ensures lightness and stability. The integrated SON hub dynamo feeds the SON LadeLux unit so that Steffen can reliably power his electronics at all times – whether GPS, lights or smartphone.

Bikepacking system from Tailfin
The modular system from our friends at Tailfin (UK) is used for the luggage:

Carbon HR pannier rack with AeroPack and two side pannier bags
Bar bag on the handlebars for all your tent equipment
Two 5-liter fork bags with direct mount system
One 2.2-liter long top tube bag for quick access on the go

Cockpit & components
The cockpit is dominated by the FSA/Vision Metron Flat M.A.S. Aero carbon handlebars with matching MAS carbon aero attachment – ergonomic, aerodynamic and optimized for long distances.

Tires
The Schwalbe G-One Overland 365, fitted with Aerotan tubes, ensures optimum grip in any weather and on any surface – ready for all the kilometers that lie ahead of Steffen.

Conclusion:
With this setup, Steffen is ideally equipped for a real adventure. The Lisore ACR – efficient, robust and well thought out down to the smallest detail. We are delighted to be part of this journey.

Shimano visits Pasculli

A special day for Bikeline Berlin and Pasculli: a visit from Japan

A moment that makes us proud and will remain in our memories for a long time to come.
We had the great honor of welcoming an extraordinary guest to the Pasculli Service Center Berlin: Yozo Shimano, CEO of the world’s leading bicycle component manufacturer SHIMANO, travelled exclusively to us in Berlin-Friedenau together with the management of Paul Lange GmbH & Co.

This visit was much more than an official appointment – it was a sign of recognition for our craftsmanship, our philosophy and our passion for custom-made bicycles “Made in Berlin”. Pasculli stands for precision, aesthetics and uncompromising quality – values that we were able to share with our guests in a personal exchange.

In in-depth discussions, we provided insights into our manufactory, our innovation processes and our pursuit of technical excellence. For our entire team, the direct dialog with one of the most influential companies in the cycling world was a significant impulse – inspiring, motivating and encouraging at the same time.

We would like to thank them for their trust, their interest and the open, respectful exchange.
This encounter encourages us on our path to not only build bicycles, but to bring emotions to life on two wheels.

Interview with Christoph Hartmann

Christoph Hartmann is one of the co-founders of the Pasculli brand. His passion for cycling is immense. He has always wanted to share this enthusiasm for cycling and beautiful bikes with other people. We recently met Christoph and talked to him about his favorite routes and what should never be missing on a bike ride.

How did you and Maik Kresse come up with the idea of founding Pasculli?

Christoph: “Cycling is my passion, I discovered my enthusiasm for cycling at an early age. In 2005, when we were in Italy, we discussed the developments in bicycle frame construction. We realized that many brands had reduced themselves to sizes S-XXL. Every person is unique and so should their bike be. By founding our own brand, we had the idea of producing special and suitable dream bikes.”

Christoph is an oboist with the Berliner Philharmoniker and began playing the oboe at the age of 13. It is therefore no wonder that the name Pasculli, a connection to his has passion. The brand is named after the Italian oboist Antonio Pasculli.

“With the founding of Pasculli, I have realized a dream and, in addition, it is always a pleasure for me to own a bike with the name of an oboist on it.”

Which bike is your favorite?

Christoph: “Of course my favorite bike is a Pasculli. I discovered gravel cycling for myself last year and ride a lot with Maik. My current favorite is a Pasculli Angelone. This bike was originally from my father, who had put it together according to his personal wishes. It has already accompanied him on one trip or another. It is the perfect touring bike for him and he has been on several tours through Israel, for example. My father and I are very similar in build and when he stopped using his dream bike, I fitted it out to suit me. I turned it into a fully functional Gravel bike converted.”

Christoph also has a Pasculli Altissimo, which he prefers to use for tours through the mountains of Italy.

Where should you definitely go by bike in Berlin / Brandenburg?

For Christoph, Berlin and Brandenburg are the ideal areas for fantastic bike tours to suit every need. He himself travels a lot in the south of Berlin and Brandenburg, as he also lives in the south of Berlin.

Christoph: “Grunewald is the absolute must-see in the south of Berlin. There are numerous options and routes to choose from. No matter whether you like road biking, Gravel bike or mountain biking, the Grunewald has something for everyone. If you want to go on a wonderful tour in Brandenburg, then I can highly recommend going out to Großbeeren at the new airport and just letting yourself drift and enjoying the landscape.”

Last weekend, he himselfe tour around Berlin. He says that on the route through an unbelievable number of beautiful parks and on fantastic country lanes. “It’s not just the south of Berlin that offers beautiful spots. There are also numerous varied routes in the north. He himself uses the app Komootwhich allows him to search for routes according to his wishes, plan them plan and customize them.

What do you have with you on a bike ride?

“My old friend and cycling legend Peter Kinzel taught me early on that the most important thing is a rain jacket. Of course, my rain jacket is folded according to a specific method.”

Christoph: “I have a lot of things with me on a bike ride. As well as a spare inner tube, a pump and a tool, I always have enough water and food (bars and an apple) with me. My old friend and cycling legend Peter Kinzeltaught me early on that the most important thing is a rain jacket. Since then, the rain jacket has been my faithful companion on every ride. It has saved me in one situation or another. What do I do when it starts to rain? I get out my rain jacket. What do I do when I cool down during a break? I put on my rain jacket. And even in the event of a breakdown or an accident, the rain jacket is a good companion to keep me warm and protect me from changes in the weather.

But not only the fact that you have a rain jacket with you is important, but also the way it is folded has an influence on the usefulness of the jacket, according to Christoph.

Christoph: “I always fold my rain jacket according to a certain method – first I fold it lengthwise and then roll it up from the bottom to the top. I put this roll in the back pocket of my jersey, so it’s always ready for use. I grab it by the collar, shake it gently and it’s ready to go straight away.”

What do playing the oboe and cycling have in common?

Christoph: “Luckily nothing – no, joking aside – on closer inspection, his two passions have a balancing effect. Of course, the endurance from cycling helps at the Playing the oboe and the breathing exercises from playing the oboe help me to cycle. However, for me, cycling is my balance, my high bby and my Passion. Every time I get on my bike, it’s endlessly beautiful. Long bike rides are not just a workout for me, it’s wonderful to enjoy the silence and the landscape.

The journey is the destination – In a short time – compressed into a few hours, cycling offers you the recreational effect of a short holiday. of a short vacation.”

Discovering something new on every tour, arriving home exhausted after several hours of cycling, taking a shower, sitting down with a beer and rounding off the evening – for Christoph, these are the things that make cycling so special and unique.
